John Henry Bonham, is the undisputed greatest rock drummer ever.
As with all the very best, there is something about his playing and sound that differentiates himself from his peers. Fundamentally, he took rock and slightly ’swung’ it, giving it have a more fluid feel. His chops were awesome and his grooves unique and powerful. Couple all this with his huge sound (derived from monster drum sizes) and you have the powerhouse that makes John. Add this to the mix of the other Led Zeppelin players (who were all of course pioneers of their chosen instruments) and you can start to understand how they took up the mantle of the greatest rock band ever.
